Peloton has ushered in a new era. On October 1, 2025, the company unveiled Peloton IQ, an AI and computer vision system built into its revamped Cross Training Series hardware. This move marks a bold bet on making home fitness smarter, more personalized, and more competitive.
The Cross Training lineup spans multiple devices, including Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, and Row+. All have been upgraded with features like movement tracking cameras, form correction, rep counting, and weight suggestions. Peloton is also introducing swivel displays, enhanced audio, and improved network connectivity to support these new AI capabilities.
Peloton says the system doesn’t just react, it learns. By analyzing users’ workout history, class performance, and device metrics, Peloton IQ creates personalized plans, suggests classes, and provides feedback during training. To achieve this, Peloton developed its own internal models instead of relying solely on ready-made AI tools.
Existing users aren’t left behind. Peloton plans to bring many of these new AI features to older equipment through software updates, although full features like camera-based motion tracking will only be available on the new hardware.
Innovation, however, comes at a cost. Peloton announced a price increase for its membership in the U.S. to $49.99 per month (up from $44), while some new devices are launching at premium prices, such as the Tread+, which starts around $6,695. Many analysts view these changes with cautious optimism, noting that Peloton must prove that its AI-driven features deliver real value to retain its users.
